USTR extends Section 301 Tariff Exclusions to combat COVID-19 until Sept 30, 2021.

The US Trade Representative will extend the Section 301 Tariff Exclusions on certain imports from China through September 30, 2021 to support the US’ ongoing efforts to combat Covid-19.

This latest round of exclusions covers these goods when entered for consumption or withdrawn from a warehouse for consumption at 12:01 a.m. EST April 1, 2021 and ending at midnight EST on September 30, 2021.

On October 2, 2020, the US Trade Representative (USTR) announced the extension of exclusions to Section 301 $16 Billion Trade Action (List 2) for products originating from China.

These exclusion extensions are effective with respect to goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. Eastern daylight time on October 2, 2020 and before 11:59 p.m. December 31, 2020.

The extended exclusions are applicable for the following statistical reporting numbers:

  1. Elastomeric petroleum resins (CAS No. 64742-16-1) (described in statistical reporting number 3911.10.0000)
  2. Machine tool stands having leveling, stabilizing, attachment or other special features (described in statistical reporting number 8466.30.8000)
  3. Electric motors, with an output of 18.65 W or more but not exceeding 37.5 W, with attached cables, designed for use in adjusting motor vehicle seats (described in statistical reporting number 8501.10.6080)
  4. DC electric motors, 12 V, with an output exceeding 74.6 W but not exceeding 735 W, with lead wires and electrical connector, measuring not over 75 mm outside diameter, with a housing not over 100 mm in length and a shaft not over 60 mm in length (described in statistical reporting number 8501.31.4000)
